There's a review of it on SBG here.In my opinion, it looks too heavy (for its size) but couple that with all of the DSA QC horror stories I've been hearing lately, and I would pick the VA Templar over the DSA in a heartbeat.

well the VA is a single hander, and ive heard VA's are very very thin and floppy so i was looking at alternative options. thanks for the heads up on the weight

Yeah but in this case, it's not worth the work IMO. I've taken apart a few DSA and while I might find a use for the fittings, the blades just suck and there's no way to change that. Wavy as hell and not enough material in the right places to regrind.
What do you want the sword for, Saito? Costume, cutting, etc?

You might be thinking of the Crusader, which is a very light one hander. However, I was talking about the Knights Templar, which is a two Hander that looks quite similar to the DSA version. Link: www.customswordshoppe.com/shoppe ... ducts_id=6

Here are some specs as shown over at Kult of Athena - HERENote that it doesn't have much distal taper, which will make it unhandy - a little to a lot. The one at KOA is a blunt. At DSA's website, you have the choice of blunt or sharp. I may be wrong, but I believe that choice is made from the same blade. IMO, you can make a good blunt or a good sharp, but you can't get both from the same blade design. One or both alternatives will suffer. I hope the blunt and the sharp are 2 different designs with different blade geometry.

ooooh that VA looks nice. and yeah while i am able to make swords...sometimes id rather just buy one and have it work right out of the box. while i am very good at making my own blades, fixing someone elses F%CK up isnt something im good at, nor have the patience for

Got it. Then, in all likelihood? A different choice would be better. Though you have every ability to turn just about anything short of rebar into a gem . problem is i cant do fullers, and i cant slot guards and pommels. so i end up having to pay top dollar to outsource things im not equipped to do my self. knowledge is power...but sometimes you need equipment to go with that knowledge
