Hi guys !
This is my first post on the forum and I'm not a native English speaker so... yeah I'll try not to mess things up .
I'll show you a quick, simple, inexpensive and aesthetic (to me) way to wrap your sword grip.
Let's not waste any time: this is obviously NOT historical in any way. At least I don't remember finding anything about this method in treatises  .
I was at my local sport shop trying to update some of my workout gear when I came across this:
Price: 6.9€ in France
My brain somehow made the link "hey, if professionnal tennis players use this thing on their rackets... it must be good, right?"
So I'm back home, and try to rewrap my good old H/T Bastard Sword:
(I would have taken photos of the process if I knew this was going to work so well)
The entire process of wrapping, making sure everything was ok, trimming everything that sticked out, took me 10-15 minutes. And it was my first time.
First surprise: this looks good ! Once you get past the fact that this is not historically accurate, what you end up with is a pleasant looking wrap.
Second surprise: this works VERY well ! No way, and I don't care if you practice in the middle of the most humid tropical forest, no way that your sword will slip from your hands with this.
It is also very comfortable, I went through a few drills and it felt great.
I just did this like an hour ago so I can't tell if this is durable but it's meant to be used during tennis games which can last a very, very long time. I'll update this if I notice premature wear.
To sum things up:
Pros:
-Cheap
-Fast
-Practical
-Nice looking
-Comfortable
-Durable (should be at least)
Cons:
-Adidas logo...
-Not historical (if you care)
I would recommend this for practice swords. Another thing to note is that it exists in white and probably in other colors if you look for other brands.
Hope this helped !
