Found this by just shooting around in google; quite expensive, never heard of the forge/vendor nor the steel (Bai-Lan?!)... But on me its extremely beautiful! Sorry, picture copying does not work on that site. www.aliexpress.com/store/product ... 13177.html

By Warder, I'm assuming you mean from Wheel of Time? True, the heron in WoT is the mark of a blademaster and to be a Warder, one must be a blademaster, but I think it might be a bit gaudy for someone who stands out by how much they blend into the background thanks to their cloaks; with a few exceptions (I'm looking at you, Lan), I've always pictured them as using more utilitarian weapons. To each their own, though, and it is a neat looking little sword. I think the pommel looks a bit oversized for the style, but that's just me.

That's very cool and a different take on the heron marked sword. Not quite my cup of tea but each to their own. From the books heron marked swords can come in all different styles.
Edit, this is what I think a Seanchan Blademaster would carry.

Just means "folded steel" (or "Damascus steel" in the common pattern-welded sense, if you prefer).
In Chinese, 百炼花纹钢, bai lian hua wen gang, literally "hundred refined pattern lines steel" (assuming that's right; Chinese readers feel free to correct).

I've always pictured Rand's sword to be sabre-ish like the VA warder, but then my blade snapped , so I have revised it to Longship Verrimus only about a dozen made, all slightly different but very close to what I think fits into the "realistic fantasy" sabre category and if the grip is green they are just that little bit better .

I agree, I tried to get that "last Verrimus" posted the other day but someone? got in first! If James had posted the stats (which they never seem to do first up) with the original post I would have instantly claimed it! he who hesitates will miss out viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21796

Paul I have thought very hard about getting the last two that have come up ( Marc R , and that one) and of them all that one fits the "Warder" sabre perfectly, then the one I ordered last year came the next day so I'm not too broke up about it, ordered it green with a clip-point.

As Paul mentioned the books mention all different styles were made Heron Mark swords. Rand's father's, yes was saberish/katana styled. But that is not at all saying that there couldn't be a Jian style heron Mark, or a Bastard sword Heron Mark, or any other style of sword for that matter. Different swords men and different smiths would likely have quite different Heron mark swords, the only commonality would be they would all be some of the best quality blades and carried by the best swordsmen.

There is another ready made warder sword, sort of, or sword of Lan. His wasn't a heron marked sword but his symbol is the Golden Crane. Hanwei ToriXL as a crane on its guard. kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=SH6007XFF
