Well...id been looking for an excuse to make a tactical style shortsword for quite some time now since i had some 3 inch wide bar stock laying around from a previous project, and since Fallen and SanMarc are making Classical Gladius's i decided id have a go at the tactical Design. I didnt get alot done yet since it started stormingh about 45 minutes after i started, but i do have the blade blank roughed out. Alot of cleanup to do on the hilt area though. U plan on using some kind of exotic wood for the grip, and maybe some Brass as a Homage to the original design. im not a fan of plastic and micarta and semprini like that. Blade Steel: 1095 Carbon Blade Length: its either 21 or 22" i cant remember off hand Grip Length: between 5 and 6" of actual grip space Blade width: about 2.75" .....a straight blade!?!??! WHAAAT! OOOOOOH NOOOO!

Reminds me of the Gage Tactical Gladius; always been a fan of that blade shape in a tactical, since I've yet to see an aesthetically pleasing Mainz pattern tactical.
