Howdy folks, a few weeks back my mom and dad were getting our house measured ti have new wood floors installed. The fellow who was here measuring happened to stumble into my bedroom and saw all the sharpie stabby pokey awesomeness that i had laying around and after holding a couple of my blades decided that he wanted two. He drew up a tactical styled knife and gave me some fairly loose parameters to work with and requested that the knife have a kydex sheath with MOLLE straps to attatch to a tactical vest. So here are the fruits of my labor thus far....the knife is at about 90% right now. I still need to drill a hole in the grip for a Paracord lanyard per customer request, and im going to do some slotted filework on the read of the grip tang. I used a thick heavy rubber for the grips after having piss poor results with black micarta and it worked out very very nice. It is very gripy even when soaking wet and feels soft to the hand without being Squishy. The blade itself is made from 1/8th inch thick 1070 carbon steel and is blued with Liquid gun blue for a 2 toned tactical look. The grip pannels are secured using large Chicago screws. tactical knives arent really my forte or my first choice in work, but im really pleased with how this one is turning out
The blade is 6 1/2 inches long and the grip is 6 inches long for a grand total of 12 1/2 overall. The point of balance is right above where you index finger sits when griping the knife. while not ideal for throwing, this farther back POB makes for a very easy to control quick blade and you can really put alot of "snap" into a cut, ill be working on the kydex sheath over the next few days.
