I would totally use hackberry or spalted maple for the grip, if not wrapping.

im planning on doing a spiral leather wrap over a wood core with cord wrap. I love the way a solid wood grip looks, but i do not trust them to be durable, especially on such a large sword. I almost exclusively use wood core + core wrap + leather over wrap when i make a sword like this. I know brenno has done some with just plain wood, but i dont trust it.

Well done Saito, this is I feel your best work to date, put a dark green grip on that and you got a winner.

Green swords get a lot of love on this forum
I agree, a dark grip would look nice. Maybe dark green, dark brown or perhaps oxblood.
Saito, how long is the grip?

well you know I love a good leather wrap, of course and a spiral will go great with the pattern steel.

easily the nicest thing you've done so far. I feel like an exotic wood grip would give it a great "dwarven" look. What do you think about "sharpening" the ends of the fuller? It would be perfect if the fuller termination had a sharper taper

I would put an aged bronze or copper collars on either side of the grip. I think it would look good...

That thing's a monster! (in a good way) I could see a D&D style barbarian wielding it against various creatures of the underworld.

Forged in the fires of a volcano, stolen from the tomb of a long dead god-king the sword sees again the light of day.

Forged in a dying star from the dinosaur killing meteor by the dwarves who forged Mjolnir, heated in hells fire and quenched in Buddha tears, the grip is wrapped in Jormungandr's skin and blade was sharpened by muramasa.
