As a big fan of Swiss blades, all I can say is I want one, this looks like the perfect job for Ernie, would like to see it on an Earl blade.

This really is a stunning design, I too think it would look great with the Earl or Regent blade. I don't know about the XVIII bare blade, it's a little small and doesn't look as good as the next gen blades. Ernie could certainly improve the blade, but at 42 inches it's pretty short. If shortened even more it could make for a good side sword blade though.

It'll definitely look better with a longer hollow ground blade, but I'm just going on what's actually available on the bare blade market. If I can convince DSA to sell me one of their gothic longsword blades, that might also be the ticket.

I actually have an Albion XVIIIb(this one is from the Regent, not the Earl) moat blade that's going to be perfect for this. It's already heat treated and ground, the only problem were some nicks in the blade; it took about 20 minutes to reprofile the blade and bring the secondary bevel back behind the nicks.
