I'm trying to upgrade my collection, and find myself in need of a good Scottish basket hilt. However, Castle Keep is a bit dear, Armour Class seems to have some issues (and uses thinner blade stock than I like), and Master Erickson over at MyArmoury still has a moratorium on new orders. So, who is out there that can do a custom basket-hilt sword?

Arms and Armor, maybe? I know they do custom work, even if I don't know of any Scottish baskets they've done. armor.com/custom.html

What did you decide to buy and from who? After completing my Japanese duo, a basket hilt broadsword is next on my list! I saw Baltimore Sword and Knife has a beautiful model but customer service complaints seem to follow them so I haven't ordered. You can't get an answer to where you can look before you buy on their sword either. Post your result of your search when you get time, please.
Thanks!

I haven't gotten this piece yet. Money is like sand, always slipping through the cracks. But, I think I'll probably go with A&A, Yeshua's Sword, or Castle Keep (if I win the lottery).

Macdonald Armouries makes beautiful swords. He is located in Scotland and has a Facebook page. Makes British Commando knives as well.
