I have been trying to find a Sho Kosugi ninja to for a long time and have had no luck. It was produced by Sho Kosugi Enterprises in the 80's. Does anybody have one of these swords that they want to sell, or could give me some information on where I might be able to find one. It would be much appreciated, thank you. Attachments:

For real I had a stainless steel but full tang ninjato at one point in about 1996 or so. I never really cut much with it, perhaps that is why it never broke on me. But I did have a lot of fun twirling it around and such. It was a fast little thing but weighted entirely wrong now that I think about it.

loved me some Sho Kosugi back in the day. If they had made a ninja movie where Sho squared off against Michael Dudikoff I would have been in ninja heaven!
loved the ad for the sword. says it has all these fantastic features, then at the very end you get the old "not intended for actual combat" disclaimer lol

Yeah I had one custom made after the original, but I'm still in the hunt for an original. Attachments:

My understanding is that almost all Ninja swords were junk swords used as a tool more than a combat weapon. They frequently used them for pry bars, step ladder, and when combined with the scabbard, antenna for probing in the dark. A Ninja would throw his sword away if bent or broken beyond repair.

I could be mistaken on this, but isn't the perfectly-straight, tanto-tipped "ninja sword" or "ninjato" pretty much a Hollywood prop? Most of what I have read about what ninjas might have actually carried suggests they were basically short-bladed katana, that was sometimes kept in full-length sayas.

You're right Creeky. Real historical evidence of ninja-to has never been found. ... But you can find one in the Koga Museum. Where's the truth with Masters of lies and disguise?

Most people think that Cheness hit the right direction with their Oniyuri-Shinobigatana thing; a solid, square-tsubaed shortened katana in standard length scabbard. Attachments:
