For collectors of old Windlass models and members who want a extra special two hander, go here: irongatearmory.com/swords/two-ha ... _flamberge I seem to remember someone asking about this model, some time ago. Pricy and the shipping will kill, but hey, these may be the last for sale on the planet!

I WISH I had saved all my old MRL catalogues but of course like a moron I threw them out a few years ago, pretty much right before I got back into collecting in a big way. I would love to see some of the swords from back then that I used to covet. I recall thinking these massive swords were pretty awesome, never really liked the wavy blades but these monsters with the side lugs and moderately complex guards etc really spoke to me. Not as much anymore but...back in the day, these kinds MRL pieces where pretty much awesome all the way around in my mind.
I used to have a crap load of those small catalogues, before they went to a standard magazine size..damn it! Now I have like 3 new ones....

I know the feeling.... Cleaning out my workshop and a couple of days later desperately needing that one little thingy I am sure I had but trew in the dumster. What I would like to know is where Irongate gets these oldies from. Windlass storage surplus auctioned off within the dealer network? I can kick myself for letting the Rheinfelden go. I feel sorry for the guy who buys the Flamberge and wants to sharpen it! Cheers.

I'm also wondering where Irongate Armoury does get these. When I bought mine from them it was the last one at that time, and they had been out of stock for good period. And couple Windlass vendors in Europe told me that this particular sword is not possible to get anymore. If someone is intrested I could ask from Irongate if they might be able to get some specific models not longer in current Windlass lineup. I agree with Bryan, back in the day these did seem like amazing swords when I was kid, but now they are just decent, most of the amazement has been washed away from my eyes. That being said, if someone will want one of these big swords, I might have one for sale. Of course the postage might be pretty big.

Jussi, I would like to know whether they see a chance to get the Rheinfelden again. Last time they had it, I let it slip. If you would like to ask them I would be very grateful. Cheers.
