Does anybody have one of these Jians and have inspected the Tang? Or can see how wide the Tang is at the mouth of the guard. I tried to contact the seller at the sword and armory 'web-site to find out how wide the tang was but got no response. Thanks in advance... Cheers www.ebay.com/itm/T10-Handmade-Ha ... 27dc4240bd

Those fittings might actually be real brass, but they look terrible. Most all of these Han jian have zinc alloy fittings which have very little detail. The loss of detail comes from having castings which are several-generations old. Instead of using the original moulds for each piece, makers will use a casting to make another set of moulds, then from that cast another set of moulds from that cast etc. etc.. Each time some detail is lost.
As to the tang I'm like 99% sure the handle is a hollow tube with a questionable tang - at least that's what I've seen inside several of these types of jian.

I was wanting it as a project blade so grip and fittings are not so important as a good tang, the specs do say "full tang" so stock removal of 1 or 2 inches to shape a good base for my fittings is an option if the tang it has is more slender than it should be for a good cutter. I like the idea of TH T10 and think it would make a nice custom jian.
