Just finishing up a "Classic" Bowie with "Catchers". It's 17" overall and weighs 30 oz. The blade is 1095 spring steel 11. 7/8" X 1. 15/16" X 1/4" thick (3/8" at the "blade catchers"). The handle is 4. 3/4" long with scales of lightly darkened Curly Maple. Thanks for looking, Mike mcswoodknives@gmail.com!

Well, you certainly fooled me with the title of this thread. I was expecting to see hammer marks and a twine wrapped grip. This look beautiful! I really like what you did on the backside of the blade, just above the guard. Very good looking blade.

Dear god, that's pretty.
I really need to set some money aside in a hurry...credit cards may just have to wait, after all.

Thank you. I enjoy making Bowies. I plan to keep every one I make. Right up to when I start on the next or someone buys it, which ever comes first. I don't expect this one will sit around very long.. I have some real nice Desert Ironwood Burl scales that are sitting around waiting for another "MY" knife. But my wife keeps cracking that whip shouting "SELL, SELL, SELL".
