www.supremereplicas.com/en/produ ... ting-saber First of all is the site a safe one? Second of all, this looks like a good saber with great P.O.B. you think it's worth it?

That's a Windlass, here's a review: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1017I'm only somewhat familiar with Supreme Replicas, they're based in Europe and I think a few of our EU members have shopped with them before. I believe the model is discontinued, and SR lists it as on backorder; MRL just says "Sold Out!" on their page. The price in Euro on SR is the same as MSRP in USD, but nobody I'm seeing listing the sword says it's actually in stock right now. I'd wager it's long gone.

Supreme is okay, but somewhat more expensive than other German sites. The sword is listed as for sale, so will be in stock. The same one is at Schwertshop.de: www.schwertshop.de/schwerter/mit ... t-4-2.html Europe is the place to look for out of stock swords. I bought diverse swords that were out of stock since years in the States. Point: Euro is strong, dollar is weak and shipping could be expensive. Financially speaking, I would wait for it to turn up at KOA pre-owned.

Wow, my nostalgia goggles are locked on tight! For the money this is an alright sword. Not great, but alright, like most of MRL's swords really. If you wanted something more sabre-like I'd go with the CS 1796.

It wasn't even three and a half years ago. (We're old. ) Seems the consensus here is "mediocre" to "okay" so take that for what you will.

It's actually based on a historical sword, except with the wrong type of blade. The original is much more cutlass-ish, wheras this Windlass is some kind of cavalry saber hybrid.
That said, I've always kinda liked the simplicity of it.
