Three pounds twelve? That's not a cutlass, that's a choplass!

You know, I've always wondered: Why are dussack guards more elaborate on the inner side of the hand than on the outer? Why is it a clamshell cutlass on the right side and a swept hilt rapier on the other? Is that just a vestigial thing or is there a purpose to it?
Also, goodness gracious, buying it from KOA costs 300 dollars more than what Lutel is asking!

Most swords with any hand protection as more protection on the right side of it. It was probably do to the fact that most attacks were to the right side, and the felt that they didn't need much protection on the inner side of the hand. It also was easier to carry on your hip.
I was thinking this too after I posted this. Plus the Del tin is cheaper at KOA.

I know, that's what I mean: Most complex hilted swords tend to have more protection on the right side. The dussack on the other hand has a simple clamshell on the right side but a full swept hilt on the left, and I've always wondered why. Why isn't it the other way around? Or why not just have a double shell like on a more typical cutlass?
