Hello everyone! It's been awhile.
I know for a fact that the LOTR swords were designed and made by Peter Lyon and Weta Workshop in New Zealand, while the William Wallace sword from the movie Braveheart was made by Simon Atherton in the UK and the other swords were supplied by Del Tin (correct me if I'm wrong). However, someone is claiming that the swords used in the movies LOTR and Braveheart (hero, stunt, props, etc) were all made in the town of Pozzorubio in Pangasinan, Philippines.
The international sword community knows that Peter Lyon and Weta Workshop made the swords for the LOTR movies and Simon Atherton made the William Wallace sword, but in the Philippines, most of them think that they were made in the province of Pangasinan because it was featured in local TV shows which sensationalized it. There's also a blog that wrote about it which added to the misinformation.

The problem here is that this guy who claims everything made in Pangasinan are selling swords on Facebook and using the popularity of these movies to attract customers to buy his swords. Here is his group on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/183996735138875/
He also greatly belittles swords made in China saying they are of poor quality just so he can sell his swords "from the makers of Lord of the Rings Swords, Braveheart Swords, Batman Begins Daggers, Rambo Knives". Yes, there are a lot of cheap wallhangers coming from China, but does that mean Hanwei, Bugei, Ronin Katana, Kaneie (just to name a few) are poor quality because they're also made in China?
So what can you say about this guy?
P.S. In case you decide to join his group on Facebook, be very careful not to mention anything about swords made in China as he will remove you from his group and ban you!
