Something with its own frog or lace holes.

Have never seen or owned a boot knife with a frog. How should this be attached to boots? Have never seen or owned a boot knife without lace holes. Have a few of that kind. Wearing them with the sheath inside the boot is extremly uncomfortable, if the boot isn't something like a Knobelbecher (long shafted boots, ends under the knee). Wearing the sheath outside doesn't fit under civil circumstances. At least for all so called boot knives with a blade lenght between 7-10cm. My next boot knife will be the CS Super Edge. Maybe that could fit my purposes.

Ja, ok, that'll work. But for my flavour it's too demonstrative. It will require much more space than a non frog carrying system. I see the sense in wearing a boot knife to have a hidden knife which no one or at least only a very few expect.

Ideally in a survival setting I'd go one on each boot. Not to mention probably a kukuri for wood chopping and such, my knife adorned pack, and my sword. I'm bladed up.
Back on topic though, who's got the bomb sauce boot knives?

Can't beat the classic Fairbairn-Sykes for a good boot knife, though its younger cousin the Applegate-Fairbarn is a nice shot. Here's what Knife Center pulls up in a search for "boot knife": www2.knifecenter.com/kc_new/stor ... boot+knife An important thing to keep in mind is if there are any prohibitions on "daggers" where you live; a lot of places don't like double-edged knives, so if you live in one of them you'll want to keep that in mind. Of those shown at Knife Center, I have A.G. Russell's Sting ( www2.knifecenter.com/item/CR2020 ... tel-Sheath ), but had to retire it when it stopped taking an edge. It was a decent knife otherwise, just one day it decided it wanted to be dull and I haven't been able to change its mind. I used to have a knife similar to United Cutlery's "Combat Commander" ( www2.knifecenter.com/item/UC2657 ... tel-Handle ) that was really nice, (Actually, I think it's this one here: www.knife-depot.com/knife-265496.html ) but I got stupid for a short period and had taken to chucking knives into my carpet to make them stick, and while it was stuck once I decide to walk past it and managed to kick it, breaking the tip off; still one of my favorite knives while I had it. I'm almost tempted to pick up this thing now that I've seen it, but am iffy on United Cutlery: www2.knifecenter.com/item/UC2658 ... tel-Handle Here's Knife Depot's selection of boot knives, since I'm also now on that page: www.knife-depot.com/boot-knives/I'd forgotten about SOG, their Pentagon series is interesting: www.knife-depot.com/knife-41310.htmlOoh, a single-edge AF: www.knife-depot.com/knife-296082.html

A lot of modern knives will either have MOLLE hookups or just a belt loop or belt clip. If you want what you want, I think your best bet is to get together with a good leather worker and have the carry system of your dreams built around the boot knife of your choosing. Not the cheap way to go, but custom leather work can be well worth it.
