Hey guys.
I been doing some posts lately but never actualy done an intro so here it comes.
A bit of histry.
I'm a 20 year old student based in Mexico, I have been doing HEMA for a few years now, started at 15, dropped it at 17 due to school, differences with my instructor and other stuff. I restarted doing HEMA by my ownand some friends at 18 (reading the manuals and practising) and some people I know have gained interest on it due to the things I say about HEMA and look up to me as some kind of "teacher" specially because here we don't have as many groups as in the US or Europe, so lately I have turned more serious about it and I want to achieve a more professional level (still a long way to go). Right now I have a fairly good ammount of knowledge on how to use a sword but not on the very technical aspects of sword construction and geometry and that's why I have joined this forum, to learn more about swords, getting feedback of my technique and also helping introduce new people to HEMA as I think it deserves more attention .
Swords I have owned or handled:
Owned:
Hanwei Tinker Longsword blunt (broke during practise mysteriously as it didn't hit anything).
DSA Black Prince (review comming soon).
Handled:
Albion Liechtenauer.
Hand made Hand and a Half Spanish made sword (about 2 of them).
Musashi katana (it was a long time ago and I forgot the model).
Hand made in Mexico sword (This one is interesting as it's steel came from scrap parts of trucks and cars ,might make an article about it).
Several machetes.
Other martial arts:
Kendo (for a short time, just about 6 months).
Tae-Kwon-do
Kung Fu
Krav Maga
MMA
I'm relativly new to this kind of community but I hope I can contribute to it .
