I'm interested in the historical accuracy of the naval swords KOA is now carrying from Universal Swords-- particularly the 1805 officer's sword and the 5 ball spadroon. A lot of their swords look suspiciously alike in terms of the blade they use but with a different hilt.
Also, how does their 1796 light cavalry sabre compare to cold steel's offering in terms of feel-- they look very similar and have very similar stats but I did notice that Universal Swords' version was peened.

Naval swords: hilts and scabbards are pretty accurate. Historically there was variations to taste and wallet size anyway. The spadroon blades tend to be thick and stiff. Little exagerated.
Re the 1796s all are suspiciously similar with untapered, bloated blades. Historic sabres hover close to 2 lbs. I had a cold steel at 2.5 lbs. A decent enough sword, but out of historical character. I've been told by distributors that the Universal/WEI suffers the same conditions.

Music to my ears, thanks. Now to wait for KOA to get their 21 sword stand back in stock so I can actually do something about that.
