Hmm. I feel like the guard is a bit blocky but that might just be me. I will say the plate engraving is very well done, I can imagine how long that must have taken. Also that grip is very nicely shaped!

it's a design I came up with so I can see it not being to everyone's tastes - suits me fine though

As a guitar player in a metal band and a repeat customer of Yeshua's, I've looked at that site MANY times...someday, somehow, I shall have one of his guitars! That said, back to your sword...looking good, can't wait to see the finished product!

Sometimes the waiting is the hardest part aint it Chris?

tell me about it. It's been almost 1 year since Albion got the sword to Ernie, and it took Albion 3 months to cut the blank. Patience is a virtue and Ernie's work is worth the wait!

ABSOLUTELY worth the wait! You must be the MASTER of patience though...

Yeah, it's unreal isn't it! It's a burl maple with Ernie's special finishing treatment- still needs to be lacquered of course. There will also be detail work on the brass gutters and a laurel carving on the pommel.

Awesome wood grain on that scabbard. That sword is an heirloom man...

I've never been a fan of this style of sword, and I'm still not... but the amazing work Ernie did here is undeniable. This is possibly the nicest project of his I've seen yet. Congratulations Chris, this is top tier stuff!

Not a fan of that style blade either, but that is a gorgeous piece. The tone of the jewelry really sets off well against the darker burl. This thing oozes class and distinction. Is it just me, or is Ernie's work getting better by the piece?? Seeing how well this is coming along makes me more than happy to wait as long as i need to to see mine finished. I'm a little jealous Chris, that little sharp is a thing of beauty!!
