I have a very nice Seven Star Trading Lonquan Jian which is a beautiful folded Sanmei Sword and it has diamond shaped cross section. Was curious if there are any Jians with the clam shell geometry...Can any Project X marquis owners chime in on their blade's geometry as the pictures of this blade are gorgeous

The Hanwei Chinese Cutting Sword (AKA the Hanwei Scott Rodell jian) is clamshell. I've seen photos of some Kris Cutlery jian that look like they're convex, not flat diamonds. You could ask them. Those are the only production jian that come to mind.
I have a nice clamshell blade with very, very, bad fittings (a cheap fake antique jian). And, of course, it can be found on antique jian.

I talked to Scott Rodell and to his knowledge, only the Hanwei Cutting Jian has the clamshell geometry. He is expecting a shipment by the end of the month for these if you are interested.

JinShi was working on clamshell geometry jian. Don't know if they ever finished that project and got it into production, though.
Sinosword also has different geometries for many of their swords. My Sinosword Jian is octagonal.

I ordered a Hanwei Jian Cutting Jian from Scott and Seven Star Trading on Monday and it arrived today...NIKU!
This is probably the best Jian I handled so far and I love the leather wrap and the extended handle...cant wait for spring to try her out. Highly recommended.

I have one and yeah, it handles great! The leather over ray skin grip is super comfy.

Yeah just in time for Chinese New Year  ! It's definitely one of the finest Jian in the production market! Too bad Hanwei has discontinued it and along with their entire Chinese line!
