For no particular reason I'm going to put my parable in the nest where the items will be discussed; if or they ever get here. I have resisted a full collection update waiting for a sabre from EmpireCostume. One source of lamentation.

Sabre Officier de Chasseur a Cheval de la Garde Imperiale. A limited volumne of 30 or so per batch sabers from a Czech forge. For the first time one of these sabers will be offered with fully recreated blue and gild ornamentation. $460.00 for the sword +20% VAT, +$135.00 shipping and $120.00 sword knot.
I missed out on the first batch early this year. The second was announced in July. Shipments are to begin sometime this month. Sometime... ( The 2d batch hasn't sold out. You can still buy one  )
1895 Imperial German Cavalry Lance: Old Militaria dealer in Pennsylvania, SarcoInc., has about 8 of these left. 10.5 foot, all carbon steel albatross.
They seemed to think thay had a sweetheart arrangement with UPS where they would ship the lance by weight, in spite of it being oversized. UPS picked it up then refused it and sent it back to Sarco. I called and emailed Sarco several times over the next three weeks and all I could get is that they were "working on it".
Final got a call from the shipping chief herself and got a full update. UPS wanted $408.00 to ship it the 330 miles to me. Sarco talked them down to $270.00. I told her that I considered the $270.00 equitable based on my own efforts to rent a carrier to come and get the lance. She said she still wasn't satisfied and asked me to give her some time to work on it some more. What could I say. I'll wait a bit.
A lot of these lances get cut in two to avoid the freight charges. Saw one being sold at auction simply mentioning that the lance was 8 feet long. ( Hell yeah, after you cut off 2.5 feet; and lost them in the process. )
If you've been watching KoA new items you may have seen that Deepeeka has offered up a new 21 slotted sword display rack. I had asked Ryan to get me one and he ordered a few more. They're already gone.
It's an odd size. It's only 49 inches tall and the tower struts aren't particularly wide. The pedestal legs are very wide at 18in.
Consequence of the dimensions this really is too short for a working floor display and the oversized legs sit awkwardly on a standard sized bookshelf causing one to consider getting a sheet of 18 ing wid shelf to lay down before putting the display up.
Delivered these cost $159.00
The slots work well for katana and my 19th Century sabers. They wouldn't work for a 2 inch bladed Medi.
I might consider using two more of these in the future, but the 16 slot Chinese made stands are ideal for bookshelf mounting and you can buy 4 of them for the price of 1 of these.
