So the best firearm protectant/lubricant that I've ever used is called "Weaponshield." It's a high tech CLP that is just tits for guns. Great lubricant, great protectant, so-so cleaner. I figured that it would also make a great sword protectant. I applied it liberally to my Cheness Tenchi blade made from TH 9260 steel with the original factory polish. After I wiped it all off, it seemed to leave a cloudy haze in the swirl pattern I used to rub it into the blade. Anyone know why, and/or if Weaponshield makes a good sword oil? Anyone else ever try it? (ie...does it always leave a haze like that?)

I've never used weaponshield (never even heard of it but I don't have any guns) but I do use a product called inox and had a similar problem when I applied it with a swirling pattern but when I rubbed an inox soaked cloth the blade up and down with it well the haze was gone so you might want to try that if you can

I use a gun oil for my swords, Remington's Rem Oil.
