The title pretty much says it. I contacted Ricky at HSTS and he just happened to have a "blemished" Oxtail Dao made by Cold Steel that I got for a good price, $120. He told me that Cold Steel contracted their blades from Huanuo. The sword's grip is misaligned and the entire area has been glued. He said he just doesn't have time to mess with it, so I get a good blade that needs a bit of work for a great price. So what I'm looking for is a vendor where I can get fittings, or perhaps a grip. I might not even need any fittings. Until I can get it broken down I won't really know. I should receive the blade by weeks end or maybe next week.
Does anyone know where I might be able to get parts for an Oxtail Dao? I'm going to mail Huanuo and ask if they sell fittings and barring that, where they get their fittings. But having an alternative vendor can't hurt.

Maybe you can also ask Scott Rodell at sevenstartrading.

I sent an Email to Scott at seven stars. Tanks for the heads up! Here are two images of the grip area. You can see the grip is misaligned, and the guard is crooked. The thing is there is a tiny amount of play in the collar under the guard. I took the pommel cap off and tightened the nut underneath as tight as I was willing to go, but that tiny amount of play is still there, perhaps I need to shim the guard? I'd love to find one of those habaki (I know that's not the right name for this piece being on a Dao) with the cool designs cut into them, but don't know if t would fit this blade nor do I know where I could find one.
