My longsword blunt has a tension pin that goes through the side of the pommol and through the tang. No problems.
Its not the rivet that bothers me. If that breaks you can easily replace that. For $25 make sure your are not getting stainless steel. I noticed a lot of stainless swords on their site. Email them and be sure it is a high carbon blade. Just to be on the safe side also ask them if it has a full tang. You will also want to ask them if the blade flexes. Some WMA groups require flexible blades for thrusting, others can't stand them. You should ask the people you train with what they want to be hit with.
Other then that... I look forward to seeing a review on this if you buy it. PM me to make sure I see it.

Lol... I wont be buying it. It is most certainly stainless. I posted this rather to point out what is passing for practical weapons these days...

It's the fact that they rip off Hanwei's name "Practical Knightly" as well as their blurb about reenactment societies. And there are no "safe weapons". It's how you use it that counts.
