this was something me and a friend had made years ago but i thought you guys may get a kick out of it. i really wanted to have a practical fencing dummy to work out on but couldn't find anything availible that would work well. so a design was worked out and this is what was the result. This is the skeleton. after it was padded out and a fencing jacket and mask placed on the head. there is a spring mount at the wrist that give a little for actions against the blade. the arm can be placed in various positions from point in line to a high 6. Also it can be bent all the way around so that you can set it up for practice against south paws. It filled the main requirements that i wanted. give me good practical targets on the arm for epee practice. and allow for realistic flick target training to the back. And could be used with all three weapons. i thought it may give someone an idea for their own dummy project.

That is very cool. You can certainly practice you engagements and disengagements. Have you done the tennis ball drill. I find that to be extremely useful for point-control.

what i would do for the tennis ball drill was start with a larger size tennis ball (you can get them from petco i think) and take a bungie. Run the bungie through the ball and knot it at each side of it and string it up. Just like a double end ball that boxers use. this way i didn't have to let it swing wild and i could go for different angles of attack. Later you can add smaller balls on the same cord and do secondary targets. It gives enough movement to make it interesting wile getting the most out of the work out. If you use an electric weapon you can put a buzz box on it so that you know that you are hitting square to the target. For me it advanced my point control very quickly. Also i would place one really low for attacks to the foot or at least a convincing feint then reaquire directly to a higher target without giving yourself too much look time. This thing was a trade secret back in the day, lol

Buggie cord is and interesting idea. It allows for a different type of bounce.
