Anyone here have experience with the ARMA (Assoc of Renaissance Martial Arts) WMA Training?? There is a local training group here in Middle Tennessee & the website looks interesting.
Thanks, Bill.

I have spoken with the local ARMA DFW organizers. It looks quite like something I want to do. But they only train here on Sunday afternoons. And Sunday is the only day off I share with my girlfriend. Spending Sunday afternoons with ARMA might rapidly advance my WMA study. But it would definitely be at the expense of many other valuable things... including my testicles. But I'm trying to work something out. ARMA looks like a really interesting thing for those of us who like European swords and medieval and renaissance fencing.

Just so you guys know there are many rivalries between different WMA schools. Two of the biggest rivals is ARMA vs Selohaar Fechtschule. Arma is John Clements school and SF is Cristian Toblers school. They nit-pick over stuff like edge parries vs flat parries, who is more historically accurate and some other stuff. Both will tell you the other side makes up stuff. It is obvious to me that they both do because there are so many unkowns. The manuals and sketches are not all that clear with hand positioning and foot work. I train with the one that is closer and more convenient. I think you guys should do the same. I only wanted you advise that no matter which camp you end up in, you will hear sh1t about the other. Just node you head and say "right" if you want to get along but you don't have to believe it. Ram that was a funny video. Never do anything at the expense of your relationship, there is nothing more precious than the love of a good woman haha, I got mine in check. She knows not to interfere with my training

Mike, There is also Schola Saint George in your area. They study Italian longsword, I believe, amonst other things.
