Here it is: My wife just walked by the PC and looked at Adam's x-ray and asked how he did it ? After explaining to her the level of realism that Adam was trying to achieve, she just looked at me weird and said " What ? Is he half sharp or something. Look they even wrote it on the x-ray" ? Which I replied " no dear, that is his name " .

I'm left handed anyway, I just fence right-handed when i use two handed weapons because speed and power come from the bottom hand - i.e. the left hand.
I'll probably still be practicing sidesword for the time being.
And an update:
My first experience with vicodin was rather amazing. Apparently I got all soft and gushy and started telling people how much I loved them...

It hurts, but far less than it did.
I no longer need to take vicodin in order to get through the day in something less than agony. So that's good.
I expect to be back to some light swordplay in a few days. An another week after that I'll begin some light sparring. What do doctors know, telling me 6 weeks until I can use the finger again. Always being overly cautious those blokes.

Glad your getting better, Adam. "House" is an american television show about a Dr. House who happens to be addicted to vicodin. I like it.

I guess this would be good time to point out that last thursday I suffered my first bone injury ever - a hairline fracture on my thumb - while fighting longsword... I proudly show the swelling

pl.youtube.com/watch?v=VeXPsSer0zc&mode=related&search=This is a movie from this years bohurt in Grunwald...unfortunatelly Poland lost with Eastern guests(Belarus,Russia...)I didn't participate this year-I wait for a closed helmet(my barbuta isn't safe enough). We met those soldiers with polleaxes during battle reenactment next day-and fight was pretty hard too(not as hard as in bohurt but I have some dents in my 2,5mm hardened steel helmet from halberd ) WOW ... Poland is not yet dead. Very impressive turnout. Hope everone had fun.

Bloody hell mate, not sure how i missed this one. I guess it just goes to show that it even happens to the best, i am going to invest in some chainmail and leather gloves with steel lames when i start my steel on steel combat. The other option for hard core sparring like this is a pair of cricket gloves, in cricket gloves this could never happen, i think those things could just about stop a bullet. Speedy recovery mate.
