I finally got my first sword today. I went with the Sword of Roven by Windlass. While I'm impressed overall, there is small wobble that feels like it is coming from the handle, and when I look at where the blade enters the hilt, there is a small gap on one side, and it fits nice on the other. (See pics) Im wondering how to fix that, and if it is easy. Thanks

The sword can be taken apart as it is a nut assembly. Just wrap the nut before using pliers or a wrench to keep from dinging up the nut.
Take it apart and see if you can even it up and tighten back up. You could always use a block of wood and a hammer and tap down on the guard as well when you have it off the sword.

Shouldn't be any trouble. If you want, the first time you do take it apart, lay the pieces out in a line as you take them off the sword. That way you'll know for sure how it goes back together. I (am very glad) I did this with my M1 Garand when I broke it down. That thing had a zillion parts!

Yes Sir. Mine was easy to remove the hilt components. If it is tight when you get the nut off, you can use the block of wood to tap on the guard to assist removing it.

thanks, and yeah, I have plenty of experience with guns, I just wasn't sure if swords went back together as smoothly as guns do... most of them anyways

Thanks! That worked like a charm My follow up question now is, does it constitute a rat tail tang? It comes down from the blade, at maybe 1/2 the width, and tapers down to a cylindrical threaded part that screws into the pommel nut. I should have taken a pic, but if anyone else has one, is that normal? I dont want it breaking off on me, mid swing. EDIT: I found a pic online, and this seems to be pretty much what it looks like EDIT2: Pic fixed

cool thanks! Andd yeah, I considered Loctite, but I thought it might be difficult to undo. But if it just requires a little force I might just do that.

Fair enough! I may see how it fairs with nothing then I guess if I get into lots of cutting I'll have too
And that sounds like a good one.. I love guns as much as anyone, but the crazies are why people think I'm weird for owning guns. And I hate that haha

If your tang looks like that one it is excellent, nicely radius-ed curves from tang to blade.
