I have a Darksword Armory sword whose scabbard is very loose. The sword will easily fall out if the scabbard is tilted. Does anyone have experience with tightening up this type of scabbard? It has a wood core. I know how to tighten a saya for a Japanese sword with a thin piece of wood glued to the mune. Is this the same principle for a European scabbard, only maybe applied to one of the sides?
Thanks in advance for any wisdom shared.

The technique for saya can also be applied to European swords, though I can't say whether it's traditional or not. I've done it in the past as well with balsa or basswood veneer, works like a charm!
