Hi All,
G’day from another Aussie lurker. My names Todd and I might as well say it out loud… I have an addiction to swords. My problem isn’t swords as such but the type of swords I collect. Japanese dress and parade swords from the military and police. There is precious little info on the internet about them and no forum I’ve found has any area set aside for their in dept comparison or discussion. Just scattered threads and topics.
The best comparison I could make on asking about these swords is like asking about info on mopeds on a racing bike forum, we all can appreciate them, enjoy the look and feel but few admit to having them.
The odd thing is I know lots of people out there buy them as I see some styles sell for considerable sums of money, but nobody is talking about them and sharing info.
On the whole, forum folk are polite and helpful when asking questions about dress swords but the topic never goes far, and at times most are as perplexed as I am with the huge variation in the types around, so it becomes a bit frustrating at times.
So I guess my hope is that there may be a few folk on here that have them, and are interested in sharing.
