like most other people my age we all remember the MOTU film from the 80's.. and much like the original Punisher, it was a cult classic. from that came the films version of the Sword of Power.
the original sword was huge.. beefy and bulky.. i wanted to make something with the same idea but with out the bulk and more battle ready...
my friend cut the base guard using his homemade 3-d lathe... it came out nice and with minimal clean up.. i made a casting of the half, then cast 2 parts in resing... i accached the parts with glue then used bondo to hide any lines. this was all done around teh blade tang provided to me by Mr Blue at savage swords.
after i was happy with the resin guard i cast it in rubber and started the wax clean up.. that and the pommel came out very nice.
i polished it and weathered it to make it more battle driven, the handle is wood attached to the full tang then wrapped in leather.
it weighs just shy of 8lbs.
