It's obviously a double-weight trainer. Have you never read Vegetius?

I'd by the Samson version of the Atlantean sword if I was actually interested in stage fighting with it, or attempting to build mass and definition in my arms by practicing cutting.
If you're just looking for a piece of movie replica memorabilia, I'd recommend the Marto version: It's cheaper (usually found online for around $500), and resembles the real thing.
. . . but hey-- if your budget can afford a Samson, why not buy it? There's something to be said for buying a weapon from the forge that helped design and make it :-)

if you read the page with the info on the original 3 swords, youll notice that they mentioned that fibreglass versions were also made.
so...... that nunchuk style swing we all love to be able to try with the conan sword....... arnie actually did that with a sword that weighed almost nothing.
i mean, try picking up a 5 kilo weight and swinging it around at that speed.

Well, actually I bought the cheapest version ever (see the thread "real bargain on Atlantean sword" is this very section of the Forum). It weights 5 kg (10 pounds). I'm 6'5" and 192 pounds, and I managed do swing it just like Arnold did. Not that fast, of course, but fast enough. I have to find time to record it and post on Youtube. Regards, Alex.

It was my understanding that there were some light weight Aluminum blade copies of the Atlantean used in the movie at specific times.
My 6'6", 230 lb, SWAT Cop son had no problem swinging my Jody Samson Atlantean around just like Arnold in the movie. I couldn't, but he did easily.
