Depends on how much you love Conan. Personally, I couldn't even begin to conceive spending that amount of money on what is basically a wallhanger. Sure, it's fully functional, but it weighs 8 pounds. Not at all wieldable. Plus, it's sortof a commemorative thing, so you probably wouldn't want to actually use it anyways. Here's a review. www.myarmoury.com/review_alb_atlantean.html

Bloody big sword. Collectible. Hang on wall. Admire. Sell children to pay for it. ;D

Just watched the vid of this guy cutting. Looks like a nice cutter but NOT handy at all. You can see his body tense up whenever he needs to make any direction changes.

Am I the only one who likes the Sandahl Bergmann's sword the most? Most of the Conan swords are huge, but hers at least looked semi-practical.

I'd rather have the Jody Samson Katana!

Arnold can Weild it. You must all be girly-men Any sword that costs near $3,000 is a wall hanger. You'll never do anything with it except look at it. I prefer a $200 sword I can bang around carefree.

If I got more money than sense, I'd want a genuine nihon-to for that amount of cash!

These things might even get pricier now. Albion is discontinuing (or has discontinued) the line, and on a very sad note, Jody Samsom (designer) passed away last Saturday.

If I had enough money laying around that the cost was not prohibitive, I'd get them. I think Albion stopped making them quite a while ago and thought they were only available through Albion Europe. I've always loved those two Jody Samson swords (very sad about his passing), impractical though they may be. I like swords I can use but there's nothing wrong with having a sword as a piece of art. They aren't really that expensive if you consider them that way, as a limited edition work of art.
Meh, just make your own.

With that kind of money I could get Brenno and Brother Banzai to make me like 2 custom swords and have a few hundred left over for tatami, or maybe a whole pig carcass to cut! (I would eat it afterward of course)

The weight and price would put me off , however I suppose the intention is to have a sword that is designed to be wielded by a monster of a man, and is so massive that it will smash its way through anything.
As a peace of art to hang on your wall they looks lovely. As a practical cutting sword? I think it would be a novelty that would wear off fairly quickly.

Take a look at John Lundemo's version. Is that 'the real deal' enough for you? -Slayer

If my memory is correct, I had Atlantean # 52 made by Albion. It was a thing of absolute beauty, ............. but as has been said, .... very very heavy. At 5'10" and 170 lbs, ........ way to heavy for me to swing and cut with, but I really didn't buy it for that reason.
It sure was a great show piece, especially if people were familiar with the movie or Jody Samson and his amazing work. To have an actual Jody Samson Atlantean, ... was very special. It was the Flag Ship of my collection for a few years, and then some unforeseen financial problems forced me to sell it and most of my other swords.
Personally, I would love to have another, but would not spend that kind of money again. I could be happy with a cheaper, less functional, copy of the movie sword.
