Hey, I've been looking around for my first sword and I've decided I like the war sword. But I can't find any good reviews or write ups about them.
Is there anyone who knows much about this sword ?

I had one. For the money it was a decent sword. I removed the leather grip and filed down the wood to slim it down and rewrapped it covering the metal bands. If you buy one from KOA, I would recommend getting them to sharpen it as it did not come very sharp and took a good bit of time to get a working edge on it.

I don't know that much about western swords, but I think it was decent sword. I've owned one and to me it was a small disappointment. Like William said it could have used a sharpening. Other than that I still think it was ok for the money spent on it. However after owning one I wouldn't recommend it, in my opinion there are better swords for roughly the same price.

Thanks guys for the advice, but on another note how well are they at cutting? Water filled bottles in mind?

I like the look of the Tinker Pierce actually. Where could i find one in the UK ? I use The Knight Shop usually but they only had The Bastard Sword when i looked.

Consider perhaps shipping it from the US if you can find some way around that... 300 pounds is something like twice what you'd pay in the US. You could probably do less than that just with shipping from EU or US.
The old CAS model isn't really worth it, IMO... it's what we might call a 'sword-shaped object'.

********************************************************* Agreed, my second sword was the hand & a half from the old CAS/Iberia line. An overbuilt clunker, basically a sharpened crowbar with a hideously steep secondary bevel. It was peened, but developed a guard rattle during it's third cutting session.
