I haven't owned one(yet), but Cold Steel's Natchez and Laredo Bowies are, by all accounts, about as good a Bowie/large knife as you could ask in their respective fields/prices. The Trailmaster is also supposed to be outstanding.

I already purchased one from a forum member and its going really well I think as long as your not trying to use it as an axe there won't be a problem, however I am a little miffed that for some reason I can't quite get it as sharp as I'd like,I can get it fairly sharp just not quite shaving sharp. Mind you I haven't run it over a steel yet, that nearly always gets my knives hair popping

Here soon I'll be posting a Natchez style blade full 1/4in thick by 1 1/8in by 5 3/8 in long tang. It is just waiting for my wife to do the scales going with lacewood, 1/4in thick brass guard, have idea what shape the guard will she will deceide it. If you what I can post a picture of the blade it's been finished out to 600grit no edge yet. This is going to be one hell of a fighter, think I might keep it for my self.

That's really a sweet blade. My vote is to style it like the Seraphim Falls bowie guard Attachments:

That's pretty sweet would look great with a antler handle like the muela from seraphim falls. Tried the butchers steel on the Natchez, voila a dozen strokes and hair popping!

I plan on using lacewood for the scales. Lacewood is very unquie wood I really like it. I not sure about antler can you make scales out of it or would I have to use a stick tang drill the antler to mount it. maybe in a couple of weeks it will be finished. Want to run it on the buffer a little. Also it takes my wife a while to do the handles. Right now I have 2 more large bowies, a big chopping knife, a large fantasy style knife and 3 small utility kitchen knives for her to get did. Plus there are 2 short swords to do. I will have 3 more short swords ready here soon too. Here soon I will switch back to axes so she can get caught up. Been doing some ball war hammers smaller ones this time. Also a blade only project I wirking for another forum member.
Wish my wife was faster doing the handle scales. I have 19 blanks waiting to be ground. Some more long bladed bowie, but thinner, several styles of seaxes, and some just plain old hunting knives.

The way I have done it once is to cut a slot the length and thickness of your tang into the deer antler and then pin it and grind the tang/antler to suit each other,it worked quite well if a bit rough. I'm not much of a knife maker so basically I was remounting a reshaped machete blade and I wouldn't hesitate to go chopping stuff with the end result
