Anyone wonder why there doesn't seem to be many places stocking the 'final fantasy' swords at the moment? Specifically, Rammstein's favorite - the 'buster sword'?

Well, it seems his most fervent wish has become a reality.

The company behind 'Final Fantasy' has made a request in no uncertain terms for the various vendors to stop selling these unathorized copies.

The story goes that they want to 'cash in on it' themselves and will be making "1/6th size scaled replicas" of the swords and other items in Japan using die-cast metal. (so they are believed to be around 6" long)...

I imagine Rammstein must be devestated...

(Now, let the ebay rush begin... Not very fair on the real online sellers I must say, as I don't think that this will stop their production or distribution via ebay, etc)

So true. Poor Stein never wins anything... ;D I know that deep down inside Stein wants a Buster Sword, he just won't admit it. Remember, Stein, admitting that you have a problem is the first step toward recovery!

I don't think this was ever targeted at the Sephiroth Masamune. It only applied to the Buster, I think. The Buster was an original property, whereas Sephiroth's kat is just a long kat, so it's kind of hard to claim ownership of it's design.
