The general consensus seems to be that you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere. Generally, you won't go wrong purchasing from one of the recommended sellers on the main Sword Buyers Guide web site. You might want to read the entire 10 page post linked below. This company has not been well thought of in the past, apparently because of inappropriate marketing practices... though some say they're improving. Skyjiro Forge - AMAZING!!!

Indeed they have amassed a poor reputation here. This has been mainly due to their shady habit of posting incredible reviews of their own products under the guise of being a non-involved, just-one-of-you-guys member. This, coupled with what I see as a somewhat too high price tag, has crippled their business here. Until a notable, experienced member purchases one and does a review, we will not know how they actually rate.
One the other hand, both David Goldberg, a well respected sword smith, and Bugei, one of the finest production sword companies around, have both taken Skyjiro on as their choice of budget cutter to sell. Both have nothing to gain and much to lose by putting their name on a shoddy product, so I hope that it means that Skyjiro has a quality product. We cannot have too many quality manufacturers/sellers.

No problem. The quality is not well known, to be fair. No real input to go off of.
Of the various member we have in Canada, most like to order through Kult of Athena. They are located here in the U.S., but do a bustling trade with our frosty northern brethren. Prices, even with shipping and taxes, often come out to less than if bought via online or physical store in Canada.

I've have one, and will be posting a review soon. Been really busy at home/work lately, and it's just taking me longer than I though. However, I can tell you that at this point, my review is going to be mostly favorable. I am quite pleased with it so far.
"Sounds like everyone has the same impression as me...overpriced..subpar quality"
Yeah, I'm not really sure that's accurate. To be honest, very few people have had any first hand experience with them at all, and can't really speak to their quality.

katana options for us in canada are the same as in usa really. maybe at most an extra $40 for shipping differences. They key is to get the shipper to use USPS. the private shipping co's will nail you with brokerage fees- which to my study use some kind of voodoo magic calculation system to create grossly unqualified and overinflated costs. Don't let them try to trick you- there are always customs fees. These are not the same as brokerage fees.
Ebay is a good option if you know the seller. Several will charge nothing for shipping. items shipped EMS from china (and really anything shipped using to origin countries national post service) will be taken over by canpost here.
Kult of Athena (has price matching) sword n armory (try calling for better shipping quotes)
huawei (ebay) sinosword (ebay) st nihonto (ebay) swordsmith 668, 688 - whatever it is.. (ebay) Mushashi Swords trueswords- has a sister site for customers outside of usa but I forget the name.
-these sellers have all had good reviews from members. personally I would not shop from some of them and everyone will have their own opinion, but at least someone here at SBG has bought from each and been happy.
