Hello all. I recently joined the board after skulking around for a while. Seems like a good bunch of folks. Lots of great info. The pictures are a little messed up but I see it's a glitch from the migration. I'm getting ready to take the plunge and make a sword purchase. I have a question about the boards mechanics. Is it possible to hide the signatures of the posts of others? Some tend to be quite distracting and teeter on the verge of being full chapters....lol. I know a Noob should not be so picky but it does seem that a few people go a little overboard. Anyway, I hope this doesn't ruffle any feathers. Thanks, Darryl

Welcome! What kind of sword are you thinking about? Be warned, it can get a bit addictive

Thanks for the welcome. From all of the reviews I've read and the price point, I'm leaning strongly towards the Tinker Pearce Sharpened Bastard Sword with Fuller. It seems to be a perfect entry level sword as well as being of good quality. I am not very particular about historical accuracy but I do want functionality. I'm definitely not into wall hangers. I don't see the point. As far as being addictive, I'm very familiar with that. I've been a avid AK-47 nut for a while now and have built from parts or converted six of them. It's an addictive hobby as well. I'd love to hear the Pros and Cons about my Tinker pick. Let me know what you think.
Thanks Darryl

I can't speak to the Tinker Bastard swords, have never had nor handled one, but I do have the Tinker Norman, the Viking and I used to own a Great Sword of war. The 3 H/Ts I own(owned) are all really nice, and if your looking for functionality first at a good price point, you can't go wrong. I absolutely LOVE my Norman. The H/Ts are probably the best blades for the price, period. Good edge (although sometimes they need some touching up), excellent distal taper. So yeah, if historical accuracy is not a key component for you but function and handling are, you pretty much want an H/T. Good luck!
