I haven't found very many reviews for this particular piece, so I thought I'd post on here to see if anyone else has anything to say about the Tactical Wakizashi by Honshu. I do realize it's basically an inch-for-inch copy of the Hanwei Tac Wak or the same by Munetoshi, but to be honest, I found things about this one that I preferred compared to the others--it was available, for instance, and the price hadn't been marked up two to three times the suggested retail price (the few Hanwei I could find available were in the close to $300-range or more. It's 1060 carbon steel blade, full tang with, if I'm not mistaken, a brass tsuba. I've held two of the same model in my hands and, maybe it sounds loopy, but I swear that there was a definite difference in feel and balance in one compared to the other--the tsuka also felt noticeably longer in the more-well-balanced of the two. So I'm not sure what to make of that--maybe it was my imagination or maybe it was "specs may vary from piece to piece" in action? Anyhow, I digress. I haven't had much chance to do any cutting with it, so I can't speak much to that, but it seems to be what I was looking for in all respects. The blade's a bit dirty in that picture--I erred on the side of excess oil for the first few cleanings after I received that one (cleaned it about once a week or more with an overly heavy helping of chojji oil). Since this pic was taken, I've gone to a very fine coat of oil about once every week and a half.

I think you are confusing tsuba and tsuka. tsuba is the guard and tsuka is the handle/grip

Mostly, I was wondering if anyone who has a Hanwei or Munetoshi might've had a chance to handle the Honshu and had any thoughts on any substantive similarities or differences?
