and if one day you should decide to get creative you should be able to re-use the fitings and hardware on a better quality blade

Exactly what I was thinking too, the handguard is just superb, I love that hand guard, I have seen nothing that is even close to it. I thought I saw a pin on that sword, can you take it apart? Forging in 3 months though, I would have to get the sword fast

I was just reading reviews for this sword, and a guy said that he cut through bamboo with it. With no ill effects. Seems functional enough to me.
