Thank you..........it's one of my favorites. When I saw it at the BKS forge it was love at first sight.

I own the Hanwei/Tinker Viking and Valiant Armoury Hedemark, but this sword here is my "crown jewel" of not only my Viking styled swords, but of my single handed and swords in general: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 012&type=1

Wow Meikka, that's beautiful! Who made it?

Thanks Thorfinn!
The blade was made by Tinker Pierce, and the hilt and scabbard is courtesy of Christian Fletcher. The blade was actually originally was mounted a similar hilt by Tinker, but I liked the Suontaka AE guard design so much that I really wanted a brand hilt. The pommel is loosely based on a Type Y.

Have any of you laid hands on both an an Albion Huskarl and Jarl? I'm wondering if they have the same handling characteristics.

I have both. I like the feel and handling of the Huskarl better than the Jarl. They are similar but not exact in handling. The Jarl is a little more user friendly on the hand.

Does the tinker viking pommel really dig into one's wrist?

When using a hammer grip, yes. However, the sword's designed to be used with the handshake grip, in which it performs beautifully and does not dig into one's wrist at all. Also, I found that my leather fencing gloves were pretty good at taking the discomfort out of a hammer grip... but I still always prefer the handshake grip with the this sorta pommel.

On my Tinker Viking, I just filed the edges on the bottom of the pommel a little and slightly curved it. Only took about 5 minutes.

Poor man's DIY Suontaka sword. Still deciding on grip color.

Are the pommel and guard from Raymond's quite press?

Yeah, that are. The pommel wasn't keyed though, so I had to drill that out myself.

I know Mr.Swiger is not to fond of this one, but it is still technically a viking sword right?

Viking inspired. It is a good sword but I just did not bond with it.
