Just saw that forum member Saito has a site up for his knives. Nothing in stock right now, but it looks like it's open for orders. lonelywolfforge.weebly.com/

Going to be picky here, I known he makes knives, but I don't think he forged them. Sticking a blade in a forge to heat treat it is not forging.

gonna be even pickier, its just a name, im sure there are plenty of "forges: out there who use high tech water jet, laser cutters or c and c mills to make blades but still call themselves forges, and just because we haven't seen him forge a blade doesn't mean he hasn't done it, i say good luck to him and hope he can make a go of it

Indeed, Freq. I do see your point, though, fallen. Either way, I hope Wes has a good run and enjoys great success!

Gonna be specific here, As Freq said, it is a name, because "Lonely Wolf Piece of Steel Grinding Metal Garage" just doesn't have a very good ring to it...hahahaha. In seriousness though, i'm working on the actual forging aspect, Im currently building a new forge but i havent gotten up the funds to pay for a better more economical heat source that i can sustain long enough for forging, but im getting there. Forged blades or at least partially forged blades will be happening, im also working on differential hardening....but none of that is going to be available until i feel like ive become proficient enough to A. do it right, and B. do it in a way that i can make money at it and not be in the hole. I also might add that my website does in fact tell how my blades are made...there's no false advertising nor claims that any/all my blades are in fact hammer forged. That being said, until im approved for vendors status by Paul, i wont be saying nor advertising anything else on the matter. Everyone's free to contact me independently through my website if they want to talk about a custom blade, Lonely Wolf Forge is in no way affiliated with Paul or SBG forums, I Just happen to be a fellow forumite like the rest of you. Thanks for the support though.

Why would one be concerned about whether he forges his blades or not? If he does, that's great, but if not, what's the difference?

Forging a knife is just one way of shaping it. There are other methods, and all give the same end result, and the quality is dependent on the choice of steel and the proper heat treatment for it. A forged blade is no stronger or better in any way than one made by any other reasonable method. There are only two reasons to forge a knife blade. One is to make a shape that is impractical to do otherwise, and the other is just because you want to.

Ever said any bad about stock removable or forging they both made fine blades. I do both, like stock removable a little better.
Just if you are going to have forge in your name you should forge blades. People expect a company with forge in it's name to forge blades.
Just call yourself a custom blade maker, it what I do.
Ok let me have it now.

Forge (noun) - a furnace or hearth where metal is heated or wrought ie; a Smithy
are some of you for real?? There is nothing imprecise about that as a name at all.
if it said Lonely Wolf Forged blades,.....well you'd be onto something but other than that you're way off. Why so critical??

Well, whatever name he calls it, it won't have a negative effect on anyone, so what's the big deal?
Once again Saito, congrats and good luck with your new venture, and I may well be a future client of Lonley Wolf Forge.
