So I cleaned up my sword and decided to take a close look at the blade to see how it was. I was greeted by these strange brown stains on the sword. They are very small. I've tried using an eraser, as well as an abrasive sponge. I'm worried they're rust. I always clean it after cutting, and keep it oiled for storage. How can I fix it? As for what I cut, just in case anyone was wondering, I typically cut water bottles, a few boxes, and small sticks. I did some heavy cutting on some bigger sticks and some rotting sticks (Only once, you can read it in my review). Once or twice, I've dyed the water in the water bottles, but as I've said, I clean it after every cutting session. All help is appreciated. EDIT- Pictures

I would try the crumpled aluminium, warm water with a couple of drops of dish detergent and rub, looks like light rust to me.

Looks rust to me too.
As I've switched in oil removal to alcohol based product that's used in sterilization, I've noticed that it has also very lightly removed some of light rust like above in my Bugei tachi that I had polished myself. There was similar very light rust in the hi, all of it was not removed, but small amount was. Maybe next time when I try bit more will be removed.
One fix would be using high grit wet paper to get rid of it. If you go this way it's important to oil and change the oil quite frequently for a while, as I've found out that new rust will develop very easily after fresh polish.
