I reckon it's a matter of personal preference. I'm thinking about putting a riser on a one-handed grip. Does that make any sense though? uk.youtube.com/watch?v=B_BcC2TSpM0I see no pattern in this vid. Looks pretty random.

If you look how I did this one - see how the triple riser sits in the dip of the palm of my hand. Alternatively you may like to have it between the first and second fingers. Also between the second and third fingers feels good - which is how this riser serves me. I also have put one between the hands - but only coz there is no room for variation of grip on this handle, and I like my fore hand right up against the cross. Botom line is that it's purely for personal comfort, and there is no right answer. Maybe try with some o-rings at first just to feel where you'd like them. I get it pretty precise before I glue them down. 5mm in the wrong direction and I'm not comfortable. Thats why I don't understand getting someone else to customise your grip for you - sorry Brian - coz they don't have your hands.

I agree with brenno, same thing on katana with menuki. I did tsukamaki on my globalgear - now it does not feel as comfortable as before, I even marked were I would place it but some mm wrong and it does not fit like it should.
Same thing with risers I reckon.
