hi everyone i am just starting an iaido class and i am usually commuting by bicycle so i am planning on purchasing a bag, i don't have an iaito but will be getting one in the future i've come down to these 2 options www.e-bogu.com/ProductDetails.as ... -&CartID=1 www.ninecirclesusa.com/Bags/Swor ... d_Bag.aspx does anyone have any of these bags and can let me know if you like them? what are your opinions on the leather material vs nylon? also if you know of any other sword bags that would be helpful too.

I've been looking for a bag too, since I'm quite tired of lugging my iaito, bokuto, and jo in a bundle to and from class/seminars. Personally, I've always observed that synthetic leathers don't tend to last too long before breaking down so I'd probably avoid the one you linked from e-bogu. I've been very curious about the Hasu bags from Nine Circles and am currently deciding between one of their larger, multi-item bags or the large Hanwei bag (since I need to carry more than just my iaito). I'm leaning toward the Hanwei myself only because I've gotten to look at them hands-on and I've never been able to find any feedback or even good pictures of the Hasu bags... it's a shame too cause generally I like the looks of them. In any case, if I were between the e-bogu and the Hasu bags that you posted I'd choose the Hasu hands-down. Good luck in your training and feel free to ask any more questions you might have!

i was thinking along the same lines, the leather material seems cheap to me, and the nylon seems like it would last longer. thanks for the feedback

I know this may sound silly, and it's not a sword bag... buuut, maybe go to your local sporting goods store, or search online for Baseball Bat Bags. Their roomy, have enough space to hold several items, and have a zipper side bag or compartment to hold the smaller items you may need. And they can be carried like a duffle bag, or over the shoulder with the heavy shoulder strap. Some also can be worn like a backpack. Might be worthy of a look as an unconvential method.

I have the Hanwei medium sized one. It says 2 swords...I can cram 4 in there.
