HA! If you had asked this two days ago I could have just posted a picture of my bloody paw after cleaning this same sword with too little care. All I have now is two manly battle wounds across two fingers And the tempering is great. I've cut pool noodles filled with 3/4" broom handles, and once even made it 90% clean through a 1" sch 40 PVC pipe before the backside of the pipe broke off. Granted that was an accident and I would never advice treating your blade like that, but it means something to know the blade remains perfect still. Christian

Another great thing about this sword is that it serves as a pretty nice blank canvas to any customizing you may imagine.
Here is one I recently had Brian of AOV make for me. /index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1205115443 It was really great experience...one day a cool idea put to paper, three weeks later I'm holding the real thing and its much nicer then I had originally designed.
But if you don't want to go all out, I would still suggest considering having the grip redone. There is a significant performance improvement.
Enjoy, Christian
