I just purchased this sword from KOA. kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=AH4211NIt comes with a red sheath that i like but is there anything that i can treat the leather with to darken it without dying it? Id like to turn it into a wine or dark reddish color to make it look aged for reenactment but not screw it up.

You might want to see if saddle soap will darken it some.

take it out and use it , put it on your belt and go for a hike in the woods, drop it on the ground a few times, IF you want to go for a real used aged look. otherwise try saddle soap as suggested.

shoe polish might work. But if it's patent leather or sealed in some kind of way, I don't think polish or saddle soap will work.

I decided to keep it the way that it is. The sheath wasn't as bright red as it looked in the KOA ad.
