Hello there. I have been reading SBG for awhile, and after several years of fantasizing about the concept I have finally decided that it is time for me to purchase a real sword.I understand the basics of never buying anything made out of stainless steel or without a full tang, and I have read a ton of reviews. I have narrowed down my choices to two swords: The Valiant Armoury Zombie Slayer Sword, and the Tinker Pearce Longsword. My budget is at most $300, and I am willing to consider other swords (even in different styles) if need be. Thanks for reading -Ghost55

Hi there, and welcome.
Those are some good choices. I personally like Valiant armory swords, The zombie slayer is a nice sturdy blade, My personal favorites from Valiant armoury are the Warder and the Kriegschwert. Those two were my first real euro swords.

Excellent choices. Both solid swords.

I recommend the Hanwei Tinker Pierce Longsword ( or any of the Tinker Pierce euros ). I think these are exceptional value for the money in terms of balance and the 5160 spring steel.

It seems that the zombie slayer is out of stock everywhere. Any alternatives that look as cool? I the tinker pierce is sorta off the table, because I want something that looks a bit more exciting. Yes, I know, such attitudes lead to the purchase of janky stainless steel swords. I want something that is actually battle-ready, and looks... Different.

If you want a Zombie Slayer, contact VA and ask if more are going to be made. I don't know how form you are on that $300 max budget; but that sword + shipping might take you over (I don't recall the price, offhand...but I'm pretty sure it wasn't far from the $300 mark)

Checkout Zombie Tools and there is also the Hanwei Banshee for some more cool looking pieces that are quality blades

For a lower cost blade that is still quite nice, Strongblade's Warspike is a good pick. Obviously no match for Valiant or Tinker Pierce, but it's also only about $200.
