I was just reading through the Arn film thread on myArmoury and saw Howard Waddell's post 30 minutes ago...
Those are very nice. Really lovely and perfectly historic. I'd love to have one of the matching Arn sword and dagger sets with the scabbards. But the price is quite high on the set! Wow, eye candy for sure.

Good looking sword, sold sharp too. They do have a disclaimer: "Please note: Film Swords recreations are NOT intended for use as a weapon. Any such use voids all warranties and no liability of any kind for such use can be assumed by Film Swords, LLC or its licensors." That kind of puts me off them.

It's a Scandinavian language film. I think it saw limited release at the end of 2007 and is currently showing in Europe. I don't think it's on DVD yet and I haven't heard of any English dubbed or subtitled version in the works. Too bad. 'Cause I'd love to see it, even with only English subtitles.

I do not doubt that they are made to the same standards as other Albion products. They are priced like other Albions!

For the prices they are asking for the swords, they are not functional? Ridiculous! Very nice looking and expensive... for wall hangers.

The sword and scabbard are beautiful, but I just can't see spending $1,100 on a scabbard.
I do hope they release the film in the US at least on DVD. I saw the trailer when it first came out and it looks very promising.

I just don't like the warrenty being voided because I use it for a sword. Still I'd like to have one. As to the movie, I await with anticipation.

Maybe it is a legal thing since they are licensed products?

Could be. I'm sure this one is functional. I know I wouldn't be able to resist cutting with it. LOL

No albion scabbards are just that expensive...
Then again fletcher scabbards can get that much too...

Yeah, those scabbards and belts are expensive. But that $1,100 gets two scabbards and a belt. And they are fairly intricately adorned with carvings and integral belt. Then the whole thing is aged to make it an exact duplicate of the one in the movie.
That kind of craftsmanship and detail is always expensive. My guesstimate would be $1,050 -$1,150 for Christian Fletcher to do the same.
It's really expensive and I'll never have one. But you gotta admire the uniqueness and high level of craftsmanship.

Like the look of the Arn sword. The other one, while nice, seems a bit overdone on the generic celtic knotwork. Can anyone tell if the Arn is a spiral riser, or three seperate horizontal risers?
