Sigh, so it seems one handed opening knives are illegal to import into Australia. There goes $80... Well i can open most one handed even if its a bit awkward, does this mean all knives are illegal?
More laws, more small minority people ruining it for everyone else.
Do you guys agree this is just silly?

You would think that the Brits, Aussies, Canucks and Yanks would be on similar footing about these things. So yes - I think it is stupid.

Aussie customs are very funny about knifes, is a shame really as is some great blades out there. I normally just buy from an Aussie importer like this one www.cuttingedgeknives.com.au/index.php to save the hassle with customs but they are a bit more expensive , or look on the blade forums. What knife did they keep from you Joe ?

Well the one they kept i knew wasn't exactly legal. The CRKT Hieho 'spring assisted' even though the spring assist can be taken out of it... But considering i got the CRKT Hissatsu (See the trend, i respect James Williams input into knives) 6 months ago and it got here fine the Hieho is an even smaller version.
BUT i wanted the DPX Hest 2.0 folder for my work knife, problem is it 'one handed opening' so i dont know if i should risk it as its near $200, the Hieho was only $50 then postage...
All the Aussie retailers ive check with have sold out of the HEST and they aren't getting anymore as same problem as me...
